Getting to Know Me. An Informal Introduction. :)

 Hi, Howdy, and Hello! :) 

First and foremost, hello, and welcome to my blog, "Reading With Sara M"! 
This blog is one that will be dedicated to my journey as I navigate through children's literature. On this site, I will be "reviewing" and discussing children's books written by well-known authors. Many of the books I discuss will be winners or nominees of prominent book awards, like the Newberry Medal, the Caldecott Medal, Bluebonnet books, and others.  However, I thought it would be improper to start this off without an introduction, so here we go!

About Me:

I am a First-generation college senior, attending a university in Houston, Tx where I'm majoring in Elementary Education with a specialization in EC-6 with ESL. After graduating, I would like to secure a second or third-grade teaching position at one of the elementary's in my hometown. Some future goals I have are obtaining a master's degree, and eventually, I would love to have a doctorate in some field of education. The timeline is foggy, but the goals are there! :)  

Some of my hobbies include sewing, baking, and studying. (That last one was a joke, but really studying takes up most of my time!) When I'm not doing one of those three things, you can find me spending time with my sweetie pie of a boyfriend, Billy. And if you can't find me there, then you will definitely find me binge-watching my favorite shows, The Office, Gilmore Girls, or Parks and Recreation! However, I guess soon you'll find me reading children's literature instead!

I am so excited to begin my reading journey and look forward to documenting every step here on this blog site! :)
